Purpose: A conversation starter! 50 pages compiled by four American artists; Nancy Popular (Photographer/Author/Book Editor), Luke Hans (The Re-Inventor Director/Book Editor), River Skipworth (Story Board/Sketch Artist) and Casscellina (Executive Producer/Executive Editor) who take on the task of creating Antix’ first product.

‍

I built a 30 page medical book to express the idea

fashion mutates

but so do we.

Fashion is forever like a black hole,

the human body is “human”

it renews, adapts, changes

This project sits somewhere between

art book, field guide, and fashion something.

it’s meant for anyone “thinking”

we present ourselves to the world

and it shapes us in return.

we’re all in a constant state of rebuilding

and that can be beautiful

no matter how scary

About the Illustrations

‍

River Skipworth, artist from Louisville, focusing in painting, ceramics and drawing. My mom is the manager of a comic/record/toy store called The Great Escape, in Louisville. Growing up around pop culture at the store, I was inspired by old horror comics for this project.

Having worked with Luke Hans on many projects, it was easy to communicate on what he wanted for the story boards, character sketches and miniature castle for The Re-Inventor.

‍

The sketches were used for Production as well as for the Puppeteer and Makeup Artist to use as a reference when constructing the Monster’s costume seen in this book.
